The ACE Foundation and National Training Board Launch Tech Quest 2000

HAMILTON, Bermuda - October 15, 2002 - The ACE Foundation and the National Training Board (NTB) today announce a corporate partnership to launch Tech Quest 2000 in Bermuda.

NTB Executive Officer, Michael Stowe, explains that the Tech Quest 2000 project will build upon the NTB's current success, which has seen some 200 students travel abroad for technical studies. "I am excited to have The ACE Foundation join with us to launch this project, which will provide funding for seven qualified Bermudians to advance their technical qualifications."

The ACE Foundation Executive Director, Ralph Richardson, said that he is pleased to partner with the NTB to launch a project that will assist in maintaining Bermuda's technical infrastructure. "Through Tech Quest 2000, ACE and the NTB are providing Bermudians with an avenue to realise their full potential and assist them in becoming technology leaders."

In partnership with universities and colleges, Tech Quest 2000 builds on the certificate and associate degree achievement of technician practitioners. The programme assists the successful candidates with acquiring university level specialist degrees in technology, technology education, technology management and workforce development.

Participants are selected for the Tech Quest 2000 project through direct recruitment according to their potential to complete the studies successfully, personally benefit from a professional qualification and contribute to the development of others. Bermudians must meet the project's eligibility criteria and be prepared to pursue one of seven technical career pathway options.

The ACE Foundation, funded by ACE Limited, is a charitable foundation established as a trust and is charged with making donations at the Trustees' discretion to registered charities in Bermuda. The ACE Group of Companies provides insurance and reinsurance for a diverse group of clients. The ACE Group conducts its business on a global basis with operating subsidiaries in nearly 50 countries.
