HAMILTON, Bermuda, April 19th 2002 - The ACE Foundation is pleased to announce that Ralph Richardson has been appointed to the position of Executive Director.
In his new role, Mr Richardson will provide leadership for The ACE Foundation's charitable activities in Bermuda. The ACE Foundation, a Bermuda charitable trust, has been providing philanthropic support to the Bermuda community through numerous educational, cultural and community health initiatives since its inception in 1997.
In announcing Mr Richardson's appointment, Keith White, Chief Administration Officer of ACE Limited said. "We are delighted to have Mr Richardson join The ACE Foundation. He brings with him a wealth of experience in the field of community service and, as the ACE Foundation continues to expand its charitable activities his expertise will be invaluable in leading the development of future initiatives."

Mr Richardson, who joins The ACE Foundation after two years with The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI), commented: "I consider my appointment to The ACE Foundation to be an expansion of my community work. My role as Executive Director will allow me to spearhead a number of valuable projects and I very much look forward to serving the greater community."
In his position of Director of the BUEI, Mr Richardson's responsibilities included management oversight of various aspects of the Institute. Mr Richardson will be available to continue assisting the BUEI with their current project, the Alan Paris "Learn Around The World 2002" educational enhancement program.
