HAMILTON, Bermuda, April 3rd, 2002 - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ACE Limited(NYSE:ACE) Brian Duperreault today announced that, effective immediately, Vice Chairman Evan Greenberg has been appointed to head the international operations of the ACE Group of Companies.
Mr. Greenberg joined ACE in November, 2001 to oversee the growth and development of ACE's global reinsurance operations. In addition to the position of Vice Chairman, Mr. Greenberg is also chief executive officer of ACE Tempest Re.
Mr. Duperreault said that he feels the time is right for Mr. Greenberg to assume additional responsibilities within the ACE Group.
"Our business operations in Europe, Latin America, the Far East and Asia Pacific, as well as at Lloyd's, have been reporting directly to me for almost a year," said Mr. Duperreault. "Given Evan's considerable experience in the global insurance and reinsurance sectors, it seems particularly fitting that he now assumes responsibility for the continued development of these business units. He's done a great job so far in identifying opportunities to expand our reinsurance operations and I have no doubt he will apply the same astute analysis to the development of our international business."
