Exclusive Provider Network Enhances Claims Management Outcomes and Increases Savings
PHILADELPHIA – April 26, 2007 – ESIS, Inc., (“ESIS®”) a risk management services company announces ESIS ExPO
SM, a new approach and further enhancement of its leading-edge, national medical provider network. ESIS’ launch of this new outcome-driven provider network follows extensive evaluation of specific performance metrics as part of a quantitative study to identify medical providers more likely to effect early return of injured workers to full duty along with reductions in duration and costs of workers compensation claims. This new outcome-driven provider network will be discussed at the 45th Annual - RIMS Conference during ACE USA’s press conference to be held May 2, 8-9:30 a.m., in Room 223, Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
In 2006, ESIS conducted an extensive analysis of more than 750,000 closed claims and 3 million medical bills. Primary care physicians were evaluated on a total of eleven unique performance metrics, including medical only/lost time ratio, average lost work days, litigation rates, and claim costs. The study revealed a distinct hierarchy of providers, while also highlighting those who positively impacted claim costs using stay at work/return to work strategies that focused on overall results. This analysis formed the basis for ESIS ExPO, one of ESIS’ focused workers compensation claims management tools available to its clients nationwide through ESIS Impact
SM.
According to ESIS President David Patterson, “ESIS is dedicated to developing proven, cost effective claims and risk control solutions for risk managers and their companies. We understand the impact that physicians have on the medical direction of a claim and we wanted to get people to the right physician at the onset of the claim. This is critical to improving outcomes.”
ESIS clients can now tap into their network channeling site and conduct an online radius search to see the most current list of top performing providers who have demonstrated better results across the eleven performance indicators identified by ESIS. “We’re excited about ESIS ExPO and so are our customers, who are already reporting improved outcomes and significant savings,” adds Mr. Patterson.
ESIS ExPO is one of four key components of ESIS Impact, an enhanced workers compensation claims management approach created to more fully meet growing client needs. ESIS Impact places a major emphasis on data analytics – accessing data and transforming it into decision-making information -- as a basis for efficient and effective claim management to drive down clients’ total cost of loss. This customer-centric, balanced approach blends people, process and technology, incorporating a precise intake environment, a focused claims team, proprietary pharmacy management, and contemporary return to work tools as well as the integrated analytics necessary to prove program “impact.”
