PHILADELPHIA - February 10, 2004 - ACE USA, the U.S.-based retail operations of the ACE Group of Companies (NYSE: ACE), today announced that Greg Otterson, Mid-Atlantic Regional Executive for ACE USA, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Insurance Society of Philadelphia. The Society is the region's leading professional organization dedicated to insurance, risk management, financial services and related industries.
Mr. Otterson has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance and surety fields. As Mid-Atlantic Regional Executive for ACE USA, he works closely with ACE's divisional presidents and is responsible for overseeing business operations, developing the strategies of the company's multiple business units and representing ACE to customers, prospects and distribution channels in ACE's Mid-Atlantic Region, which comprises Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Washington D.C., Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and Southern New Jersey. Mr. Otterson joined ACE USA in 2001 as Vice President, Surety Bonds, for ACE USA Diversified Risk. His career also includes positions in the Liberty Bond Services division of Liberty Mutual and at Safeco.
Mr. Otterson holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Idaho. He is an active member of the Philadelphia community and serves on the Board of Governors for the American Swedish Historical Museum in Philadelphia.
The Insurance Society of Philadelphia was founded in 1901 to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas for the Philadelphia insurance fraternity.
