ACE USA Creates New Role to Enhance National Account Claims Service, Appoints Brian Brown as Senior Vice President, Claims Client Executive
PHILADELPHIA, September 28, 2009 – ACE USA, the U.S.-based retail operating division of the ACE Group, today announced the appointment of Brian Brown to the newly-created role of Senior Vice President, Claims Client Executive. Mr. Brown, who will be based in Wilmington, Del, will continue to report to Paul Ramsey, Executive Vice President of ACE USA Claims, and will serve as a critical point of contact in communicating and delivering the company’s claim service offerings.

Mr. Brown will work collaboratively within ACE USA to serve as an advocate in managing business relationships across the full spectrum of ACE USA product lines, including primary & excess casualty, foreign casualty, property, and specialty lines. By acting as a claims liaison between underwriting and claims, Mr. Brown will help drive strategies and resolutions to significant claims requiring technical and legal expertise.

“Brian will drive the delivery of a strong customer-focused claim approach to customers and distribution partners on an ongoing basis,” said John Lupica, President & Chief Executive Officer of ACE USA, commenting on the strategic value of this new role. “Brian’s proven leadership in managing claims in the large accounts arena will play an important role in the execution of a first-class claim service model.”

“ACE is committed to a customer-focused approach in servicing our client base, and Brian’s role as a steward who supports and maintains clients’ claim servicing needs is integral to its success. This is a key initiative for ACE USA. The claims leadership and technical expertise Brian will bring to our clients not only at the claims event, but throughout the entire client relationship, will result in a more complete delivery of our risk management solutions and better respond to the unique needs of our clients,” said Mr. Ramsey.

Mr. Brown, who joined ACE USA in 2003, most recently served as Senior Vice President, Claims for ACE Risk Management, ACE USA’s primary casualty division, and has deep knowledge of the national account workers compensation claims and liability lines of business, as well as previous claims oversight of ACE USA’s Accident & Health and ACE Financial Solutions business units. Mr. Brown received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Virginia and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of Maryland. He is a member of the Maryland Bar.
