PHILADELPHIA - July 20, 2004 - ACE Risk Management (ARM), a division of ACE USA-the U.S.-based retail operating division of The ACE Group of Companies-today announced the appointment of Tim Rau as Senior Vice President and Dallas Branch Manager. Mr. Rau will have overall responsibility for overseeing Dallas branch operations, new business development and underwriting activities for ACE Risk Management's large-risk customers. ACE Risk Management offers comprehensive risk management programs and services, which are uniquely designed and customized to assist companies in any industry in dealing with the significant costs of financing and managing risk.

With more than 15 years experience in the insurance industry and in managing national risk management accounts, Mr. Rau most recently served as Branch Manager for CNA's Risk Management Division in Denver. He also held several senior branch and underwriting management roles for CNA's Chicago and Dallas branches. Prior to working at CNA he held a variety of regional senior casualty underwriting management positions in the national accounts arena for both Transamerica and with CIGNA Property & Casualty's Special Risk Division.
Mr. Rau began his insurance career with CIGNA Property & Casualty Company in New York. Mr. Rau holds both a bachelor of business administration and an M.B.A degree in insurance from St. John's University (formerly The College of Insurance) in New York City. Mr. Rau holds the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) professional designation.
