London, 6th August 2002- ACE Tempest Re (NYSE:ACE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Shaw as Managing Director of ACE Tempest Re Europe, based in London.
Matthew Shaw joins the company from St Paul, where he served as a director of the board of the Managing Agent and Active underwriter for syndicate 340.
Matthew will be responsible for the overall management of ACE Tempest Re's operations in the UK and Europe, reporting to Gary Schmalzriedt, President and Chief Executive Officer of ACE European Group and David Furby, President of ACE Global Reinsurance.
